Exmoor Cycle Route
Exmoor is a renowned area for cycling, being recognised as one of the most beautiful and wild areas of the England. On our tour you will explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park, following the 60 mile marked Exmoor cycle route, used in one of the most spectacular stages of the Tour of Britain.
The scenery is a varied mixture of woodland, moorland and rugged coastline, and you are in with a good chance of encountering wild Exmoor Ponies and deer.
Over two days you will have time to explore as you pass through historical villages, such as Dunster, famed for its medieval Castle and Yarn Market. There is also a bounty of local delicacies to sample, including Cream Tea's, Ice Creams and Exmoor Ale's.

Day One
Arrive at the village of Porlock. After booking into your accommodation you are free to spend the afternoon exploring the village of Porlock and harbour at Porlock Weir.
Day Two
After a full briefing you will leave Porlock, heading up a twisting toll road and onto the gorse and heather landscape of the moors. You will pass the small, picturesque village of Countisbury, then drop down to the small harbour town of Lynmouth, which is famed for its cliff railway. After suitably refreshing yourself, you head back up onto the moors passing the villages of Simonsbath and Exford, before reaching your accommodation at Wheddon Cross, a small village situated in the very heart of Exmoor.
Day Three
Be on the look out for wild Exmoor Ponies and deer as you continue along the moors, as before long the landscape changes to become more wooded, as you approach Raleighs Cross. As you descend you will pass through the villages of Elworthy and Monksilver. The village of Dunster is worth exploring, it boasts a castle and ancient yarn market as well as a host of tea shops where you will find some local delicacies to replace all those calories burned.
Returning to Porlock in the afternoon, you have completed the loop. An additional nights accommodation in Porlock is available if required.
